The Detroit Lions have quickly become one of the teams to watch in the National Football League.
They were one of the most improved teams last season, and knocked on the door of playoff contention until the final couple of weeks.
However, as much as people seem to like them as divisional favorites in 2023, NFL analyst Cameron Wolfe believes the fans are getting way ahead of themselves right now.
Wolfe urged people to put the brakes on the Lions hype train, citing that Jared Goff is coming off the best season of his career and that might not be sustainable for much longer.
Moreover, Wolfe reminded everybody that the Lions had one of the worst defenses in the league last season, and even though he loves the C.J. Gardner-Johnson pickup, their secondary defense is still kind of suspect.
Lions became one of NFL’s lovable teams after getting hot late last year. Now a popular pick as NFC North favs, I feel the Lions hype train has gone a lil off the rails given lingering Qs.

Wolfe also reminded the fans that second-year WR Jameson Williams will be suspended for the first six games of the season because of his involvement in yet another gambling scandal.
He thinks that the NFC North is still the Minnesota Vikings’ to lose, even though the Vikings seem to be looking forward to rebuilding and could even part ways with star running back Dalvin Cook.
It’s also worth noting that the Chicago Bears also improved drastically this offseason, and Justin Fields is expected to take yet another leap forward.
The Lions still have enough talent to make some noise in the division, but maybe people shouldn’t rush to make any assumptions just yet.
