The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most popular and valuable franchises in the sports industry, and as such, there’s a certain standard that needs to be met.
The team has failed to live up to those standards for over two decades now, barely making the playoffs and failing to reach the Super Bowl.
And even though we’re talking about a team sport, a lot of their recent struggles have had to do with Dak Prescott’s subpar performances.
In all honesty, his numbers aren’t all that bad, but there are serious doubts about his ability to lead such a storied franchise.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton recently admitted that he feels kind of bad for Prescott, as he would be a beloved player if he had the same career he’s had with, say, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Notably, fellow host James Jones agreed with that assessment but noted that the Cowboys are such a big market that people will talk about them whether they win a lot of games or don’t win one.
He added that as unfair as it might be, you cannot be the reason why the Dallas Cowboys don’t win football games, which is what has happened with Prescott multiple times.
That’s similar to what happened with Tony Romo during his playing days with America’s Team.
He wasn’t the worst quarterback in the league by any means, but he was often portrayed as it just because he played for a team that was supposed to win every single week.
