The AFC East is going to be a tough division this season with the New York Jets getting Aaron Rodgers back at quarterback while the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills have added reinforcements to build on last year’s playoff berths in hopes of taking the next steps.
Yet, one analyst doesn’t believe one of those teams has any shot at winning the division this year after the offseason it had.
Regarding the Bills, Craig Carton said, “You can’t win the division this year, that’s not on the table.”

Alongside his guests, “The Carton Show” host said that the loss of Stefon Diggs will hurt the Bills a lot and leaves them without a clear No. 1 receiver.
Carton also pointed out that the Jets arguably have the best defense in football and the Dolphins still have one of the league’s most explosive offenses, so there’s no chance the Bills can compete against that.
This take feels like an overreaction to losing Diggs, who had a down season last year and didn’t look like a No. 1 receiver for the last three months of the campaign.
It’s not inconceivable that Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel, alongside the hopefully improved Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, could serve as a formidable group of receiving options for Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
The Dolphins haven’t proven they can beat good teams and lost a lot of talent this offseason, and the Jets are always capable of reminding us they’re the Jets, so maybe it’s wise to pump the brakes a bit on calling for the Bills’ downfall.
