The Carolina Panthers made a massive trade with the Chicago Bears ahead of last year’s draft.
They acquired the No. 1 overall pick in the trade, dealing away several key assets in hopes of finding their next franchise quarterback.
Fans now know that they selected Bryce Young with this pick, a move that was controversial at the time and has been looked upon with disdain over the past year.
This is largely due to how C.J. Stroud has played, the quarterback selected directly after Young.
Regardless of Stroud’s abilities, however, Craig Carton decided to focus on Young in a recent segment of his show.
He said, “Bryce Young is not an NFL quarterback and he NEVER, ever, ever will be.”

Some players are deserving of second, third, or even fourth chances in the NFL.
Not Young, at least, in Carton’s eyes.
He saw enough in 2023 to declare that Young is not a good quarterback and that he’ll never reach the level of play that a QB should achieve in the NFL.
The Panthers invested significant capital into Young last year, and if he doesn’t end up panning out, they will need to rebuild for a very long time to be able to compete at a high level.
However, given the amount of change that the Panthers have made in the offseason, there might be a glimmer of hope for Young in 2024.
With a new head coach and coordinators, there is a chance that Young can be fixed and developed into the player the Panthers drafted him to be.
