The Green Bay Packers have come a long way under Matt LaFleur.
Despite his age, the young head coach has proven to be one of the savviest and best in the league, and he continues to find ways to adapt and adjust.
Notably, he’s even turned this team into a running football team all of a sudden.
At least, that’s how Greg Cosell sees them.
Talking on “The Ross Tucker Podcast,” the renowned analyst pointed out how the Packers have become a more run-heavy team over the past month or so.
He talked about how they’re using Jayden Reed as their X-Factor next to Josh Jacobs, sometimes even with both on the field at the same time:
“The Packers have kind of evolved into being a running football team,” Cosell said. “Jayden Reed is kind of the wild card in their offense. He’s the movable chess piece. They play a lot of what we call pony package where they play two running backs.”

Jordan Love is clearly their best and most important player on offense, but he has struggled to take care of the football this season.
Committing to a run-heavy approach has helped him significantly in that regard, and that speaks volumes about LaFleur’s ability to recognize what he has in front of him and adapt to his personnel, and not the other way around.
The Packers haven’t drawn that much attention this season, but they’ve been one of the most efficient teams on both sides of the field.
They will face a tough challenge on Thursday Night Football when they face the red-hot Detroit Lions.
Perhaps taking them down on primetime television will be just what they need for people to talk about them as the Super Bowl contenders they are.
