The AFC is routinely touted as the better of the NFL’s two conferences, at least in terms of quarterback play.
Many of the AFC’s top teams are led by young, elite quarterbacks who have made quite an impression on their respective organizations.
Despite the consistent brilliance of AFC quarterbacks, however, there still are many talented athletes at the position in the NFC.
In a recent segment of ‘Speak’ on FS1, Emmanuel Acho highlighted who he believes are the NFC’s top-five quarterbacks.

In order, Acho listed Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, and Geno Smith to round out his top five.
Hurts was an MVP candidate last season, and he is seen as the near-consensus top quarterback in the NFC.
The Philadelphia Eagles have dedicated significant capital to him, and he is their franchise star for the foreseeable future.
After Hurts, however, the list gets murky for many analysts and fans.
Prescott has received a fair share of criticism, especially given his recent inability to lead the Dallas Cowboys to an NFC Championship.
The Cowboys are an organization that, at least from a historical perspective, is used to winning.
If Prescott isn’t able to right the ship, his favor in the eyes of fans could fade fast.
Stafford and Goff switched places, as Goff headed to the Detroit Lions, and Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams.
Stafford was able to win a Super Bowl in 2021 but had injury concerns last season.
Goff and Smith were both heavily doubted last year, but are now given high praise for their recent successes.
Will the NFC’s quarterbacks make a significant leap this season, bolstering their standing in the public eye?
