In the eyes of many, Bill Belichick is the greatest coach in NFL history.
He has been the head coach for 6 Super Bowl-winning teams, cited as the genius behind the New England Patriots’ dynastic run.
Despite his widespread public praise, not everyone feels the same way about him.
Asante Samuel, a former Patriots cornerback, has recently spoken out about Belichick, indicating that his success was contingent on Tom Brady’s excellence.
Tony Kornheiser, a host of “Pardon The Interruption,” challenged these claims.
Regarding Samuel’s comments, Kornheiser said, “This argument ignores the fact that Bill Belichick created an environment” for Brady to succeed.

When Brady left the team after the 2019 season, many wondered how the Patriots would fare.
In the three seasons post-Brady, they have only made the playoffs once.
On paper, this may seem like a victory for Samuel’s argument, as it seems to indicate that Belichick can’t win without Brady.
However, as Kornheiser points out, Belichick was responsible for the team’s culture, especially when Brady was in town.
It appears that the arguments on both sides have merit, depending on the way they are interpreted.
Samuel did play for the Patriots, so he saw Brady and Belichick interact and had a front-row seat in the Patriots organization.
Wherever you stand on the issue, many are putting Belichick in the hot seat for the 2023 season.
If they are unable to make it to the playoffs again this year, it could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for his time in New England.
