The San Antonio Spurs are not expected to compete for a playoff berth this season.
But, they will be one of the most exciting teams to watch.
That is due to the presence of Victor Wembanyama.
The first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft is already making noise around the league to begin his career.
Wembanyama was one of the most-hyped basketball prospects since LeBron James.
He is starting to show why.
In four games this season, Wembanyama is averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
He is also chipping in 2.3 blocks per game.
Standing at 7-foot-4, he towers over most of his opponents, and blocking shots come easy to him.
Keyshawn Johnson thinks, via “Undisputed,” Wembanyama is developing just as the Spurs have hoped.
He said: “His development is on track. Once he learns the NBA game, he’s going to be a force…”

Wembanyama is only 19 years old, and his body still has plenty of maturing to do.
At 7-foot-4, he only weighs 210 pounds.
You can bet the Spurs want to see him add more muscle as he continues his career.
Four games in, it looks like the Spurs made the right choice in selecting Wembanyama.
He has all the makings of a franchise-changing player and the Spurs need him to make them relevant again.
There is no question he will have more growing pains throughout the season.
But, the Spurs have to be excited about what they have seen from their first overall pick after his first four NBA games.
