The Indianapolis Colts have gone through a roller coaster of a season thus far.
Anthony Richardson, their first-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, was injured in Week 5 and will miss the rest of the year with a shoulder injury.
While that seemed to be a death sentence for their season, the Colts have turned things around.
They currently hold a 6-5 record, and, as analyst James Palmer points out, they are now the seventh seed in the AFC.
Bringing back this interview with Zaire Franklin on The NFL Report last week. Because after a Colts win on Sunday, Indy is ahead of the Texans in the division and in the 7th seed in the AFC. Shane Steichen has coached his butt off. https://t.co/YuabdVZNt4

Palmer also pointed to Zaire Franklin’s interview ahead of the Colts’ Week 12 game, as he called out Shane Steichen for his masterful coaching to this point in the season.
Steichen has quickly won over the locker room in Year 1 of his coaching tenure, which has paid dividends on the field.
One of the biggest reasons for his success, as Franklin said, has been the “culture of accountability” within the Colts’ organization.
When players feel accountable for the team’s success, it often goes a long way with their on-field performances.
For the Colts, this has led to continued success, even though they have a backup quarterback (Gardner Minshew), and the odds are stacked against them.
They are ahead of the Houston Texans in the divisional race, who are led by rookie sensation C.J. Stroud.
This should be an exciting finish to the year, as it is likely that at least one of these AFC South teams will make the playoffs as a Wild Card.
If the Colts keep playing hard under coach Steichen, they could find themselves in an unlikely postseason berth.
