The 2023 Detroit Lions have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch thus far this season.
Dan Campbell has done an outstanding job of developing a winning culture within an ever-struggling franchise, and their scouting department has struck gold more often than not with the young players they’ve landed.
But more than that, former NFL star Jason McCourty believes they have something else that makes them special: Their youth.
In the latest edition of Good Morning Football, McCourty talked about the Lions already having a leader in Jared Goff, stating that he’s got plenty of experience and even made it to the Super Bowl.
"They have a QB in Jared Goff who's been there before, he's played in a Super Bowl… But then the rest of the guys… What I love is, they're young enough to 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦." @JasonMcCourty on the young @Lions team and why "not caring" is actually a good thing pic.twitter.com/moOWhEixMH

The rest of the team, however, is quite young, and McCourty believes that’s why they do not care against who they play or what city they have to travel to.
McCourty jokingly said that they’re ‘young and dumb,’ so all they care about is playing football and having some fun; they don’t care who they’re facing.
Per the former defensive star, that gives the Lions some sort of swagger, and that’s the kind of demeanor you’d want from a young team looking to make a name for themselves.
The Lions have one of the brightest futures in the game; that’s for sure.
They have a plethora of playmakers on both sides of the field and a coach who would run through a wall for every single one of them.
Whether you’re a fan of the Lions or not, it’s hard not to root for a team like this.
