The Milwaukee Bucks will do whatever they must to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo as long as they can.
But recent comments from the two-time MVP suggest he could leave the team if they can’t achieve the sort of success he desires.
That means he will want and need a strong team around him.
Bobby Marks spoke with SiriusXM NBA Radio and said the Bucks front office should be focused not only on Antetokounmpo, but also Jrue Holiday.
“I would be concerned based on what happens with Jrue Holiday,” Marks said.
“If they lose [Jrue], they’re going to be in deep trouble,” he added.

Holiday will be a free agent next year and could demand a lot of cash from the Bucks to remain on the roster.
With his 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 7.4 assists a game last season, he’s definitely worth a strong contract.
But will the Bucks be willing to spend what he wants?
Holiday is an important part of the team and also a crucial key to keeping Antetokounmpo on board.
Not only is he a supremely capable and experienced guard, but he is also very close with Antetkounmpo and the two have great chemistry.
That matters to Antetokounmpo because he wants to play with people he likes and people who can help him win.
The Bucks need to consider Holiday and other players as well when they are contemplating how to keep Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee.
If they lose Holiday, they could also lose Antetokounmpo.
The team has some time to figure out what they want to do with a contract extension for Holiday.
When they are making their choice, they need to think about how it’ll affect their top star and their future.
