The New York Jets entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations.
Now, without Aaron Rodgers, they’ll be fine with making the playoffs.
Rodgers couldn’t finish his first drive with his new team, and there’s a strong belief that he tore his Achilles, which would obviously rule him out for the whole season.
However, even though Zach Wilson hasn’t fared well at all during his brief career in the league, NFL analyst Craig Carton still has hope for this team.
“Right now, I am a team with an average quarterback at best, but I’ve got a strength and that’s Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook.”

He pointed out the fact that they have one of the best — if not the best — running back duo in the NFL with Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook, and that was on full display after Rodgers fell with that injury.
Hall showed absolutely no signs of rusts after coming back from a season-ending injury of his own, running for 127 yards on ten carries, including an 83-yard burst.
He also had a 20-yard reception on two targets.
As for Cook, he was less efficient with 33 yards on 13 carries, but he’s already proved that he can be one of the best workhorse backs in the league if needed.
The Jets also have an elite playmaker in the passing game in Garrett Wilson, who made a spectacular grab for Zach Wilson’s lone touchdown pass of the evening, and he put up big numbers last season despite his subpar quarterback situation.
Add an elite defensive unit with a great nose for the football, and chances are the Jets might not be done so early after all.
