The Denver Broncos are in line for some major changes, especially at the quarterback position.
The Broncos pulled the plug on the Russell Wilson experiment when they released him at the start of free agency.
Wilson quickly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he’ll compete for the starting job against Justin Fields.
Meanwhile, Denver has yet to name their starter for the 2024 NFL season as they’ve currently only got Jarrett Stidham under contract.
Stidham drew starts toward the end of last season after head coach Sean Payton benched Wilson, but isn’t locked in as the starter.
It appears the Broncos will roll with Stidham with the hopes of adding another signal-caller via the 2024 NFL Draft, per Mike Klis of 9 News via ProFootballTalk.

This year’s draft class features several potential franchise-altering talents like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels.
However, that trio is widely expected to go in the top 10, leaving the Broncos just out of range to take them barring a trade up.
Instead, the Broncos could be looking at the second tier of prospects like J.J. McCarthy, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix. Jr.
Those three have more questions than the top prospects, but could develop into worthwhile starters in the right situation.
Regardless, Payton will need a new quarterback if he hopes to turn around the Broncos franchise.
