The Minnesota Vikings are one of the elite teams in the NFL right now, as they sit at a record of 14-2 entering the final week of the regular season.
As they prepare for a massive matchup against the Detroit Lions this weekend with the No.1 seed in the NFC on the line, all eyes will be on Pro Bowl quarterback Sam Darnold as he enters the biggest game of his career.
Analyst Greg Cosell joined the “Ross Tucker Podcast” Thursday to discuss what has stood out about the veteran’s play this season.
“There’s two things to me that stand out about Darnold this year that we’ve not really seen from him in the past…It’s pocket movement…His willingness to stand in the pocket and make late-in-the-down throws when there are people around him with a lot of comfort,” Cosell said.

There is no doubt that Darnold has turned himself into one of the best quarterbacks in the game this season.
All the 27-year-old needed was a fresh start in the right situation after his stints in New York, Carolina, and San Francisco.
Of course, he didn’t have much help with the Jets or Panthers but learned a great deal from Kyle Shanahan and Co. out in the Bay.
Now, he has shown out this season in the Twin Cities.
He has thrown for 4,153 yards and 35 touchdown passes while posting a passer rating of 106.4.
This could be his team until further notice, even after the team drafted J.J. McCarthy in the first round last season.
