Two NBA superstars remain in limbo with about two months left until the start of the 2023-24 season in October, as James Harden and Damian Lillard have seen no movement since they requested trades earlier this summer.
There has definitely been some drama with these two superstars since their trade requests, especially for Harden and his relationship with the Philadelphia 76ers, but Lillard continues to wait for a resolution as the Portland Trail Blazers try to find him a new home in the NBA.
Lillard and his representation have made it clear that he wants to play for the Miami Heat, but that doesn’t seem to be an easy deal to make, with the Blazers brass potentially not liking the trade packages coming their way.
That said, Bill Simmons of The Ringer believes Lillard should put some serious consideration into playing alongside Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert with the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Karl-Anthony Towns being the player sent to Portland, via NBACentral.
Bill Simmons thinks Damian Lillard should consider forming a Big 3 with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert in Minnesota

With Edwards’ future recently getting secured with a long-term deal and Towns not exactly working out as planned alongside Gobert, this move doesn’t seem to be a bad pivot from the Heat.
However, there’s a big difference in lifestyle as Miami and Minnesota could not be more different, but if Lillard is looking for a chance to win a championship, it’s not a bad idea, with Edwards starting to come on as a legitimate superstar in the NBA.
It’ll be interesting to see if there are any developments over the next two months on the trade front with Lillard and if other notable teams like the Timberwolves emerge as a trade suitors.
