With the Chicago Bears headed toward another disappointing end to an NFL regular season, the future of star quarterback Justin Fields has been a hot topic of discussion, with the team expected to have two high draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The upcoming draft will be filled with talent at the quarterback position, meaning the Bears could decide to move on from Fields and bring in a talented player right out of college, like USC’s Caleb Williams or North Carolina star Drake Maye.
The Bears will have the ideal situation to start over with a franchise quarterback while also being able to upgrade the offensive line or bring in a potential star wide receiver through the draft.
Needless to say, Chicago is in a great position to make some moves and get this franchise headed in the right direction, and it appears Fields might not be in the team’s long-term plans, meaning another team like the Atlanta Falcons might have the opportunity to bring him in to be their starter, as Brock Vereen of CBS Sports suggests via NFL on CBS.
“Perfect scenario if you ask me – Justin Fields gets there, and everything gets solved,” said Brock Vereen on the Falcons potentially acquiring Fields.

It will be interesting to see how things unfold for the Bears and Falcons, as both teams will be looking for upgrades at the quarterback position for next season and the foreseeable future.
Only time will tell if Fields’ days in Chicago are truly numbered and what teams might show interest in the versatile quarterback during the NFL offseason, which will get started for the Bears in only a few weeks.
