People have been expecting amazing things from Victor Wembanyama for years now.
Even before he entered the league and signed with the San Antonio Spurs, he was someone who generated a ton of excitement and huge expectations.
Speaking on The Volume, Jason Timpf spoke about Wembanyama’s potential and what he could look like in only a few more years.
“Wemby’s a few years away from being the best player in the world: that’s the type of potential that he has,” Timpf said.
He said that the young rookie is showing incredible skill and is doing amazing things even though he’s working with “the worst collection of ball-handling I’ve ever seen on an NBA team.”
“When they actually put some quality veterans around this guy that know how to play, he’s gonna be such a force multiplier for them,” Timpf concluded.

The potential Rookie of the Year winner is posting 20.5 points and 10 rebounds a game.
He is also earning a league-high 3.2 blocks per game.
He is a defensive powerhouse and his offensive skills are growing more and more during each game.
When the season started, some people said that Wembanyama wasn’t living up to the hype but those complaints have lessened as the season has gone on.
People are blown away by what they see from the Spurs star and they know that he can and probably will only get better in the years ahead.
Timpf noted that Wembanyama needs a better team around him and he also said that the Spurs could acquire Trae Young in the upcoming offseason.
If Wembanyama is really surrounded by a better team, he will not only put up amazing numbers but also possibly lead his team to the playoffs.
