The Carolina Panthers are hoping they finally have their first franchise quarterback since Cam Newton.
The Panthers selected Newton first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
After a few tough seasons with poor quarterback play, the Panthers decided it was time to make a move.
That is why they traded up to the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft to select Bryce Young.
Now all eyes are on Young to see how he can perform in his inaugural season.
Many people expect the Alabama product to hit the ground running in his first year.
Former NFL player Damien Woody went on the “Pat McAfee Show” to discuss his expectations for Young.
He said, “I’m all in and I think he’s going to have a phenomenal start to his career.”

It is rare for a rookie quarterback to have substantial success in his first season.
But, everything is in place for Young to have a strong season.
The Panthers have a solid roster of skilled players with the addition of Miles Sanders and Adam Thielen.
Also, they might have the best defense in the NFC South.
It is not out of the question that the Panthers could represent the South in the playoffs this season.
With Tom Brady leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the division is up for grabs.
Even though many people will not be picking the Panthers, they are certainly in a spot to contend.
It will be interesting to see how the addition of head coach Frank Reich can change the culture in Carolina.
Every Panthers fan hopes Young and Reich will turn into one of the best QB/HC duos in the league.
