The New York Jets should be a strong Super Bowl contender this season, as they added one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the league and one of the single best passers in the game.
However, NFL players might not feel the same way about Aaron Rodgers anymore.
Even though they do have him as a top-10 quarterback for next season, they chose him as the 51st-best player in the league.
More than that, they have him ranked nine spots below Kirk Cousins ahead of this season, which is why Mike Greenberg put them on blast during ESPN’s “Get Up.”
Greenberg wants someone to print that out and put it in front of Rodgers’ locker so he can look at it as motivation for the whole season.
He believes there’s no way that players actually believe that Cousins — of all people — is currently a better quarterback than Rodgers just because he’s coming off a somewhat down year and played with a broken thumb.
Rodgers was the league’s MVP just two seasons ago, and we’re talking about one of the most talented and accurate passers this game has ever seen.
He’s as petty and competitive as they come, and you know he’s always keeping tabs on what’s being said of him and whatnot.
Rodgers has made a living out of dominating and outplaying Cousins — and most quarterbacks in the league — and he won’t tolerate any more disrespect going forward.
