New York Giants fans aren’t so thrilled right now.
Their team made several big moves yesterday, but they also lost two key pieces.
Star DB Xavier McKinney left town to join the Green Bay Packers, all while Saquon Barkley jumped ship to join the Philadelphia Eagles, of all teams.
Nonetheless, as painful as that final move may have been for the fan base and the organization, NFL analyst Craig Carton actually believes it could be a positive thing.
Talking on The Carton Show, he made a point about the Giants being a better team today than they were yesterday.
Of course, he didn’t take a shot at Barkley or anything like that; he just pointed out that they made some interesting moves despite losing him.
“Be mad at the Giants, don’t be mad at Saquon Barkley. The Giants are a better team today then they were yesterday,” Carton said.
.@craigcartonlive has a message for Giants fans that are upset with Saquon for going to the Eagles:

Carton stated that the Giants were able to revamp their struggling offensive line, all while trading for an elite pass rusher like Brian Burns.
He also acknowledges that while Devin Singletary isn’t even close to Saquon Barkley in terms of talent or production, he’s an efficient running back.
The Giants could still be far away from contention, and that might not change for as long as they have Daniel Jones as their quarterback.
But they had a solid defensive line, and it got significantly better with Burns’ addition.
It will be a while before they’re able to keep up with the rest of the division, and watching Barkley in Eagles’ threads will always hurt the fans, but at least they’re going in the right direction.
