The Denver Broncos are hoping to right the ship during the upcoming 2023 NFL season, with the team making a major move in the offseason to bring in one-time Super Bowl champion head coach Sean Payton.
With the arrival of Payton, the Broncos hope to return to their winning ways, as they’ll finally have some stability and reliable leadership on the sideline in the Mile High City.
However, things could get tricky for the Broncos if superstar quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t able to return to form as one of the best players at his position in the NFL.
On Thursday, the Broncos took a significant hit to their hopes of having a solid bounce-back season with Wilson returning to form, as the team lost wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for quite some time.
According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Jeudy is expected to miss several weeks with the hamstring injury.
#Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy is expected to miss several weeks with a moderate hamstring injury suffered today in practice, per me and @TomPelissero.
That puts Jeudy’s status in question for Week 1. But there’s optimism it’s nothing long term for one of Denver’s top weapons. pic.twitter.com/KNv0QAUDOR

Although the injury isn’t thought to be serious, hamstring issues can be tricky and an injury that can flare up at any moment, meaning he will have to take it easy for some time before ramping back up to full speed.
Jeudy and Courtland Sutton are the dynamic receiving duo in Denver and were expected to potentially have breakout seasons in 2023 if the Payton experiment does work out and Wilson resembles the superstar of old.
Obviously, this is a step back for the Broncos, but Denver will hold out hope that Jeudy isn’t stuck on the bench for an extended period of time.
