The Chicago Cubs have come out of nowhere and won six consecutive games.
With that six-game winning streak, the North Siders have reached the .500 mark for the first time since mid-May.
A 10-3 blowout win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday put them at that mark.
Many expected the Cubs to be sellers at this year’s trade deadline, but with their recent win streak, they may be looking at things from a different lens.
On MLB Network’s “High Heat,” Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo discussed the outlook for the Cubs at this year’s deadline and how their next four games, three of which are against the rival Cardinals, will determine what they do come August 1.

Russo discussed Marcus Stroman and how recently, the veteran right-hander hasn’t pitched to his full potential, which Russo believes could still result in a trade.
However, Russo believes that Cody Bellinger is the key to everything at the moment and that trading him would be ill-advised.
Now at .500 for the first time since May, the Cubs have three remaining games in St. Louis before they head back to Wrigley Field on Monday to open up a series with the Cincinnati Reds, who have been a surprise contender this season.
Russo stated that these next four games will likely go a long way in determining what course of action the Cubs will ultimately be taking in the next few days.
Bellinger has been red-hot at the plate, which makes it hard to imagine the Cubs trading him.
But losses in the next few days may change their mind, if that is what indeed occurs.
