The New York Yankees currently find themselves in a precarious position.
The Yanks sit at the bottom of the American League East, 14 games out of first place.
They also are 6.5 games back in the Wild Card race after dropping to .500 with Tuesday night’s loss to the Atlanta Braves.
Often times, Yankees fans can take solace in the fact that the team has 27 World Series titles, the most of any team in Major League Baseball, even when times are tough.
However, Yankees fans also realize that it doesn’t hold a lot of water when the team is .500 in August.
On Twitter, Jarred Carrabis pointed out that he actually feels somewhat sorry for Yankees fans, despite being a Boston Red Sox fan himself.
I don’t feel bad for the “27 rings, bro” fans. I do feel bad for the realistic Yankee fans who watch 162, recognize they’re not the big bad Yankees of the 90’s anymore and want a ring of their own instead of bragging about their parents’ and grandparents’ rings. I feel for them. https://t.co/4LiTSt1TFU

Carrabis pointed out that he is tired of hearing certain Yankees fans use the “27 rings” claim and that he does not feel sorry for that pocket of the Yankees fanbase.
However, Carrabis does feel sorry for Yankees fans who are being realistic about things, and recognize that these Yankees are not the same Yankees from the late 90s.
He expressed how those fans are hoping for the Yankees to get back to the World Series sometime in the near future so they can have a ring of their own to brag about instead of rings of the past.
The club won 99 games last year and cruised to an AL East title.
However, that doesn’t appear to be likely as the final month of the regular season approaches and they sit 14 games out of first.NEXT: Yankees Insider Notes How Average The Team Has Been
