The Minnesota Vikings have a few contracts to figure out over the next several months.
Two of the most pressing pertain to Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson.
Jefferson is expected to get one of the biggest receiver contracts in NFL history, something that could potentially hinder the Vikings’ chances of signing a quarterback to a massive deal.
Mike Florio recently wrote an article about this situation, indicating his frustrations with the NFC North club.
“If the Vikings want to keep Cousins, they are not going about it the right way,” Mike Florio said.

If the Vikings don’t want to keep Cousins around, it would be in their best interest to make those intentions known quickly.
Florio adds, “Everyone wants to feel wanted and valued. Cousins, by all appearances, would like to stay.”
Cousins is viewed as one of the top free agents in the 2024 class, and if they don’t retain him, another team will surely swoop him up.
However, if they do wish to keep him, it is seemingly a good idea for them to make that known quickly.
If they know who their quarterback is going to be for the next few years, it’ll likely be easier to retain a player of Jefferson’s status and on-field abilities.
Jefferson hasn’t made any public comments about wanting to leave the team, but, similarly to Cousins, if they don’t act fast, he could grow frustrated with the organization.
He isn’t technically due a new contract until the 2024 season concludes, but if the Vikings want to keep their star happy, they might want to consider extending him sooner rather than later.
