The New York Jets are the most hyped team in the league entering the 2023 NFL season.
Adding Aaron Rodgers was supposed to put an end to their never-ending woes, not only at the quarterback position but also in terms of developing a winning culture.
That’s why even though it was just a preseason game with no starters, NFL analyst — and Jets fan — Craig Carton believes the Hall of Fame Game vs. the Cleveland Browns was a must-win matchup for Robert Saleh’s team.
With that in mind, he and former NFL champion Plaxico Burress debated about the team’s never-ending issues closing out games.

Carton stated that as much as he didn’t want to make a big deal out of losing a preseason game, the loss proved that they still don’t know how to close out games and be winners.
Burress predicts that the Jets will be a very good football team next season, but this is the kind of issue that has haunted them for years now.
Notably, turning a culture around doesn’t always happen overnight.
And truth be told, it’s hard to jump to conclusions after watching second and third-stringers take the field for a meaningless game.
But the Jets do have issues closing out games and rising up to the occasion.
Then again, it only matters when it counts, and while winning habits are also created during the offseason and in these games, it’s way too early to start sounding the alarms, and the fans will just have to be patient.
