March Madness is underway, and judging by the first day of games, this year is already living up to the hype.
There were a few upsets throughout the day, but none were as notable as No. 14 Oakland taking down No. 3 Kentucky.
Many fans and analysts projected Kentucky to make a deep run in the Tournament this year, so this loss was quite shocking.
After seeing this collapse, many quickly called out Kentucky’s shortcomings, especially since John Calipari is a longtime veteran coach.
When talking about this loss on his show, Carton said, “John Calipari is like the college basketball version of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Carton makes this comparison to highlight the fact that, despite the history of both of these teams, they haven’t been able to win in clutch moments in recent history.
The Cowboys’ 2023 season is an excellent example of that.
They were the team to beat for most of the year, having a dominant offense and defense and a perfect home record.
Of course, that perfect home record came crashing down in the Wild Card round of the playoffs when the Green Bay Packers beat them in blowout fashion.
In a sense, the same can be said about the Kentucky basketball team.
They are known as a “blue blood,” a team that has historically performed well, and because of their talent, they can seemingly beat any team that gets in their way.
However, Calipari has let his team down over the past few years, which led Carton to compare him to the Cowboys.
