The Los Angeles Lakers have a very big decision to make about Anthony Davis this summer.
The star player is eligible for a three-year, $167.5 million extension at the start of August.
All reports suggest that he will definitely receive that extension from the Lakers.
But NBA analyst Alan Hahn thinks that Davis has to do better at his conditioning, training, and taking care of his body if he wants to earn it.
Speaking on Wednesday’s Get Up, Hahn gave his honest opinion about Davis and his physical shape.
“Show up in the best shape you’ve been in in years. Elite shape. You’re over 30 now. … [He has to show up] every night. That’s what a real franchise player does,” Hahn said.
.@alanhahn is calling out Anthony Davis 😳

Hahn brings up a couple of strong points about Davis’ body and his performance lately.
Davis, like many players in the league, usually suffers at least one injury a season and misses games due to it.
But, he can also be inconsistent even during the playoffs.
This was notable during the postseason this year, when he would deliver one strong game, followed by a weaker one.
Hahn says this pattern isn’t acceptable for a player who is on the verge of making nearly $170 million over a few years.
Davis needs to consistently play well and consistently stay healthy, says Hahn.
It doesn’t matter how he does it – whether it be through working out, a new conditioning team, or a better diet – but Davis has to be available for his team the entire season.
If Davis does get this deal in August and continues to suffer the same problems, Hahn won’t be the only one calling him out.
