The Miami Dolphins have always stood by their quarterback.
Even when Ryan Fitzpatrick was having a career year, they didn’t hesitate to bench him to give Tua Tagovailoa the nod.
He struggled early in his career, yet they continued to stay by his side and allowed him to grow through his mistakes.
Nonetheless, NFL analyst Joel Klatt believes both parties could be better off by parting ways.
Talking on his podcast, he made a case for the Dolphins to move on from him, stating the fact that they haven’t signed him to a contract extension was ‘telling.’

He added that the Dolphins need someone who can throw the football on time and with accuracy way down the field, and that’s not Tua.
He points out that Tyreek Hill often has to break stride and lean back to grab Tua’s throws.
With that in mind, he thinks Michael Penix Jr. would be a much better fit for Mike McDaniel’s offense.
He explained that as much as Penix has struggled with injuries throughout the course of his career, he’s been able to stay healthy when used as a pocket passer, and that’s exactly what the Dolphins need right now.
That’s a valid point, but it’s hard to envision the Dolphins moving on from Tua at this point.
On the flip side, Penix Jr. does come with plenty of injury concerns, but the arm talent is most definitely there, so it would be nice to see him landing on a team where he could get an opportunity to play.
