Over the past couple of years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been trying to upgrade both the quarterback and wide receiver positions in order to give the franchise the boost it needs offensively to potentially take the next step forward in the post-Ben Roethlisberger era.
During the offseason, the Steelers made an effort to improve the quarterback position, and they seem to have done that by bringing in veteran Russell Wilson and up-and-comer Justin Fields.
Eight games into the 2024 season, Pittsburgh is headed in the right direction, as Fields opened the season as the starter until Wilson was healthy enough to take over under center.
The Steelers are sporting a record of 6-2 and were able to bring in a talented veteran wide receiver ahead of the NFL trade deadline, acquiring Mike Williams in a deal with the New York Jets.
John Daige of Establish the Run believes that Williams and Wilson will work very well together.

The Steelers will now lean on Williams, George Pickens and Van Jefferson as their go-to receivers heading into the second half of the 2024 campaign, with Pittsburgh on pace to win the AFC North if it can keep the Baltimore Ravens at bay.
It’ll be interesting to see if Williams can be a game-changer for the Steelers and if he helps their attempt to win the division title and make a deep run in the playoffs.
