Tom Brady is regarded by many fans as the best quarterback in NFL history.
His seven Super Bowl rings are the most by any quarterback, and his 23 seasons of dominance won’t soon be forgotten.
While it is unlikely that another quarterback will surpass Brady’s records, Harry Douglas recently gave a case for a current QB to claim ‘GOAT’ status.
The Kansas City Chiefs have experienced great success under Patrick Mahomes, already winning two Super Bowls.
As Douglas outlined on ‘First Take,’ he said, “I don’t think it’s going to take seven Super Bowls for Mahomes to surpass Tom Brady as the GOAT.”

Mahomes has averaged 303.2 passing yards per game during his first 5 seasons, while Brady averaged 228.2.
Brady does have the edge on Super Bowl titles in his first five years, totaling three to Mahomes’ two.
However, Mahomes has already won two league MVPs, something Brady didn’t accomplish by his fifth season.
Douglas believes Mahomes has been a more dominant quarterback as a whole, even though the Super Bowl totals aren’t there.
When all is said and done, who will be seen as the greatest quarterback in NFL history?
Mahomes enters the 2023 season at 27 years old, turning 28 in September.
He presumably has at least ten years of elite NFL production left, assuming he stays healthy.
With three Super Bowl appearances already, how many more will Mahomes make it to, hoping to cement his place in history?
