Former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is interviewing for the vacant New York Jets head coach position today.
However, some feel that Vrabel is just using the Jets as bait so he can become the head coach of the New England Patriots.
One of those people is radio host Brandon Tierney.
“I think this is a leverage play by Vrabel. I really think he’s prioritizing the Patriots,” Tierney told WFAN Sports Radio Friday.

Ultimately, it feels like Vrabel is just looking to get back into coaching.
While he was with the Tennessee Titans for six seasons (2018-2023), he guided them to four winning seasons, multiple AFC South titles, and an AFC Championship appearance.
The former All-Pro and three-time Super Bowl champion is one of the game’s most respected coaches, and he could greatly benefit whichever team wants him.
However, Tierney’s Patriots angle is interesting.
New England already has a head coach in Jerod Mayo, but considering their three wins this season, they could be looking to get rid of him.
Would Vrabel want to coach the Patriots in their current state?
They are a rebuilding team with a long way to go, while a team like the Jets, despite having a very bad year, has plenty of talent and a future Hall of Fame quarterback.
This whole process will be fascinating to watch over the next few weeks.
