Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers has received a lot of praise – and criticism – over the last few years.
After helping his team win the Finals several seasons ago, Davis has been somewhat inconsistent and has suffered a series of injuries that have limited him.
So, where does that rank him among other players in the league?
On FanDuel TV, Michelle Beadle asked analyst Eddie Gonzalez where Davis sits in the league.
Gonzalez said that Davis is a top-20 player, perhaps even in the top 15 at times, but he is not putting him ahead of Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“It’s not for lack of talent, it’s just for what we’ve seen and the expectations we have to have with his health,” Gonzalez said.

He added, “When he’s on and when he’s healthy, he’s up there, he’s higher. He’s in the consideration for a lot more than the top 20.”
While many Lakers fans would rank Davis much higher. most people agree that Davis is one of the most talented big men in the league – as long as he can stay healthy.
This last season was actually one of Davis’ best when it came to his physical condition.
It’s no surprise that the Lakers also had one of their most impressive seasons in years too.
Davis can be unstoppable when he is in good shape and many possessions run through him as well.
He is sorely missed when he is sitting on the sidelines.
Gonzalez’s answer is honest and reasonable, given the number of times the Lakers haven’t been able to count on their big man.
If he can have another season like the last, Davis may climb higher on Gonzalez’s list.
