New York Mets center fielder Brandon Nimmo is one of the most sought-after players in the 2022-23 free agency.
He is said to be looking for a nine-figure contract, and he appears increasingly likely to get one if more interested teams join the party.
The latest MLB organization to show their desire to “find Nimmo”, as agent Scott Boras recently said, are the Toronto Blue Jays.
“The Blue Jays are showing interest in OF Brandon Nimmo, per @jonmorosi,” Fox Sports MLB tweeted.

If several squads are all looking to bring in a specific player, it speaks loudly about his quality.
Nimmo is the ideal leadoff hitter for the modern game: lightning quick, with the ability to work walks, and with considerable power.
Add his incredible defense to the equation and you have a 5.4 WAR player.
As you probably know, WAR means Wins Above Replacement, and Nimmo is way ahead of the “replacement level” player.
In 2022, he slashed .274/.367/.433 with 16 home runs and 30 doubles.

He also scored 102 runs, which is what he is getting paid to do.
Nimmo’s incredible eye and plate discipline will allow him to get many more walks than the average player, putting in a position to score some runs.
He also had occasional power, enough to hit more than 15 home runs,
He is also very athletic, and can hunt down balls that few other outfielders can turn into outs.
The Mets should be considered favorites to re-sign him, but by no means they are the only ones with a certain degree of interest.
Now that they have traded Teoscar Hernandez, it makes sense for the Blue Jays to look at Nimmo.
Even better, he would give that lineup some balance, hitting from the lefty spot.
