The Detroit Lions keep spending big bucks to keep their stars around for the long run.
This time, it was Jameson Williams‘ turn.
The former first-round pick just secured a three-year contract extension worth up to $83 million.
That deal includes $67 million guaranteed.
With that in mind, fellow WR Amon-Ra St. Brown took to social media to share his excitement for this deal:

There were some rumors about this deal, with some reports stating that the Lions were unwilling to give him an extension until they watched him take the field again this season.
That clearly won’t be the case, and the team got him to put pen to paper before he entered the fourth year of his five-year rookie deal.
Williams got off to a slow start to his career, with a suspension and some inconsistency getting in the way.
But he finally turned the page in 2024 by logging the first 1,000-yard season of his career, adding eight touchdowns and playing a pivotal role in the Lions’ 15-win season.
The Lions are clearly quite high on continuity, as they’ve spent a lot of money to re-sign and extend some of their stars.
Over the past couple of offseasons, they’ve secured deals with QB Jared Goff, OTs Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell, and the aforementioned St. Brown.
RB Jahmyr Gibbs will most likely get a deal of his own as soon as he’s eligible after this season.
They’re also reportedly working things out with star DE Aidan Hutchinson, but it won’t happen before Sunday’s season opener.
