The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found their quarterback, as Baker Mayfield made it a smooth transition for them.
Though he’s no Tom Brady, Mayfield is putting up MVP-caliber numbers this season.
That’s why Allen Iverson tipped his hat to him.
From one former No. 1 overall pick to another, the NBA superstar recently gushed about Mayfield on ESPN’s “First Take.”
“Baker is a dog,” Iverson said.

Mayfield has earned that reputation, not only with his play but also with his attitude.
He’s a fierce competitor who’s never going to hesitate to put his body on the line to get an additional yard.
He’ll play through injury and do whatever it takes to help his team win.
Mayfield has been at his best since he landed with Tampa Bay, and he’s taking things up a notch this season.
Through the first five weeks, he has completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 1,283 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception.
Notably, he’s done that despite wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin Jr. both missing time with injuries, but his chemistry with rookie Emeka Egbuka has been remarkable.
More than that, Mayfield has shown that clutch factor by orchestrating four game-winning drives, and he was just one score away from a big comeback in their only loss of the season.
He and the Bucs will be back at it in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers.
