The Texas Rangers have been perhaps the biggest surprise in MLB as June comes to an end.
At 49-32, they have the second-best record in the American League and lead their division, the AL West, by five games.
We all knew they were going places with all the money they spent in the last two offseasons and with the decision to hire Bruce Bochy as manager, but few people actually envisioned them being this good.
If you want to know how legit they are, consider this fact: they will have four starters in the upcoming MLB All-Star Game.

As the Rangers official Twitter account stated, it’s the most All-Star Game starters they have had in their history.
Second baseman Marcus Semien, shortstop Corey Seager, third baseman Josh Jung, and catcher Jonah Heim will start for the junior circuit.
Texas has an incredible eight position players with an fWAR (Wins Above Replacement, FanGraphs’ version) of 2.0 or above: the four starters plus outfielders Adolis Garcia and Leody Taveras, utilityman Ezequiel Duran, and first baseman Nathaniel Lowe.
Their offense is simply amazing, but the pitching is not far behind.
Even without Jacob deGrom, their rotation has three pitchers with an ERA under three: Nathan Eovaldi, Dane Dunning, and Jon Gray.
Long story short, there might be more All-Stars than the starting four mentioned above; and that speaks volumes about how far Texas has come as a franchise.
They have made the leap from playoff hopefuls to legit contenders.
