Adam Wainwright has a history of dominating his opponents.
It’s one of the reasons he’s been around for so long.
But today, he takes the mound against the Colorado Rockies looking to help deliver a sweep for the St. Louis Cardinals and put them at a season-high 15 games above the .500 mark, while also potentially expanding their lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central.
The Rockies are one of those teams that Wainwright seems to not have any trouble with.
Over his career, Wainwright is 11-1 with a 1.48 ERA against the Rockies and he’ll look to continue that run of dominance today.

Waino Vs. The Rockies
So far, so good for Wainwright.
He’s got himself a 5-0 lead and is through three innings at the time of writing.
The Rockies are just one of those teams that Wainwright has been able to dominate over his long and storied career.
Early on, it’s looking like that run of success is continuing.
Sometimes, a guy can just look at another team’s jersey and immediately get dialed in.
Wainwright’s last two starts against the Rockies were dominant ones.
He faced Colorado on Mother’s Day last year at Busch Stadium, and almost threw a complete game shutout against them.
Then, on July 2 of last year, he went eight innings and allowed just two runs against the Rox.
He also nearly threw a no-hitter against them in 2013.
Today, Wainwright is off to a good start, and he’ll look to keep dominating the struggling Rockies.
Coming into today’s start, Wainwright was 8-8 with a 3.27 ERA after throwing nine innings of one run ball against the Brewers over the weekend.
We’ll see if he can keep it going today and deliver a solid performance for the Cards.
