Adam Wainwright is entering his final season in Major League Baseball.
The St. Louis Cardinals legend has been known for his pitching, but has also developed a reputation for his great sense of humor.
On Monday, while the Cardinals were squaring off against the New York Mets, Wainwright was interviewed by announcers on ESPN to discuss his final season.
While Paul DeJong was hitting in the bottom of the second inning, Wainwright busted out a hilarious impression of the late Rodney Dangerfield, jokingly saying that it takes a lot of work for him to get respect and famously quoting Dangerfield’s “I get no respect” speech.
You have our respect Waino, but you're showing your age with the Rodney Dangerfield impression. 🤣 #STLCards pic.twitter.com/hmbYlQ7Fzr

Wainwright is always somebody the Cardinals can count on, and not just for big games.
The veteran right-hander and two-time World Series champion also knows how to keep things loose in the clubhouse.
Wainwright has been around since 2005 and is the longest-tenured member of the Cardinals, having pitched his entire career with the team.
So naturally, he’s going to get a ton of respect.
His impression of Dangerfield could use a little work, but his sense of humor remains intact, even towards the end of his storied career.
It’s why the Cardinals and their fans love having him around and appreciate everything he has done for the City of St. Louis and the organization.
First, it was dugout dances.
Now, it’s hilarious impressions that keep everybody loose in the clubhouse and make the players respect Wainwright so much.
He’ll likely start Opening Day for the Cardinals this year, kicking off his final season in fitting fashion.
