Last season, the Las Vegas Raiders struggled with leadership.
Once they parted ways with Josh McDaniels, who his players had heatedly confronted, they all rallied behind Antonio Pierce.
Some players told owner Mark Davis they would request a trade if they didn’t bring Pierce back as a full-time head coach this season.
He earned their trust after finishing the season strong.
Fast forward to today, and that magic may have worn off.
That’s why Adam Schefter wouldn’t be surprised if the Raiders were to part ways with the first-year head coach.
Talking on The Pat McAfee Show, the renowned insider stated that Davis could have had Pierce’s back in the latest owners meeting but didn’t, meaning he’s not a lock to return next season.

The Raiders may have hoped to have something similar to what the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions found with DeMeco Ryans and Dan Campbell, but that might not be the case.
Even though their quarterback situation left a lot to be desired entering this season, some worrisome things on the field have gone uncorrected all season long.
The Raiders are expected to have either the No. 1 or No. 2 pick in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft.
And with Colorado star QB Shedeur Sanders looking like a potential franchise savior, perhaps they would want to make it a 2 for 1, as Deion Sanders might at least consider leaving college if that means getting a chance to coach his son in the pros.
