After the first four weeks of the 2023 NFL season, no team in the league looks better on both sides of the football than the San Francisco 49ers, who have dominated the competition in each game thus far.
Perhaps the biggest question mark for the 49ers coming into this season was whether second-year quarterback Brock Purdy could continue to play at a high level while leading San Francisco.
With a month in the books, Purdy has answered those questions, as he continues to be as advertised while making head coach Kyle Shanahan look like an offensive genius once again.
Apparently, Purdy’s play this season and the last has drawn the attention of four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, who admitted he’s a big fan of the 49ers star while on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

He's a pretty damn good player and he's making high level throws" ~ @AaronRodgers12 #PMSLive #FTTB pic.twitter.com/JrNqvzUVpr

Rodgers isn’t buying all the talk that the only reason Purdy is this good right now is because he’s in Shanahan’s system, as he said he saw him recently make some “high-level throws” in a game and knows how hard it is to be good in this league.
At this point, if Purdy continues to play at a high level like this with remarkable efficiency, he could help lead this team to the Super Bowl as the NFC representative.
The true test for Purdy will be in Week 5 when the 49ers take on the Dallas Cowboys, which may be the only team in the NFC outside of possibly the Philadelphia Eagles that can contend with them.
