The 2024 NFL season has turned out to be another disaster for the New York Jets, as the franchise has failed to live up to expectations, even with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers back under center.
Rodgers was thought to be the missing piece to the championship puzzle in New York, but that hasn’t been the case, resulting in the firing of head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas, as well as one of the worst records in the AFC heading into Week 14.
With the NFL playoffs out of the question and the season being a lost cause, Rodgers recently was asked how he wants to play out the rest of the year in New York.
“I just want to finish off as well as we can,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “It’s been a rough season. A lot of opportunities to win games that we didn’t get the job done in the fourth quarter. … So if you’re the starter, you want to play all the games. So that’s how I feel. I want to be out there with my guys in battle as long as I feel healthy.”

With the season over for the Jets in terms of competing for a spot in the postseason, all the attention turns to what the future holds for Rodgers in New York, as he seems open to wanting to play another year with the team.
It remains to be seen if the Jets have a mutual interest in keeping this relationship going.
