In Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers and superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers headed in completely different directions, with Jordan Love and company making easy work of the division-rival Chicago Bears and the future Hall of Famer going down with a season-ending Achilles injury for the New York Jets.
Even though Rodgers likely isn’t totally fond of what he left behind in Green Bay with the two sides parting ways this summer, he seems to have a good relationship with Love, whom he texted after the Packers crushed the Bears.
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers said he congratulated Love for keeping the ownership of the Bears in place, via Ari Meirov.

The Packers destroyed the lowly Bears in Week 1, with Love making quite the impression, as he threw for 245 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions to start the season off with a win for Green Bay.
During Rodgers’ time as the Packers starting quarterback, the Packers dominated the Bears, and that tradition seems to be continuing with Love under center, as the team appears to be in good hands at the quarterback position.
Even though the Packers followed this win up with a loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, Love had another solid performance, throwing for 151 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Only time will tell if Love is the long-term option for the Packers under center, but so far, he’s exceeded expectations despite the loss to the Falcons.
