During the 2022 NFL season, the New York Giants were the talk of the league, with Daniel Jones and company defying the odds under then-new head coach Brian Daboll.
It seemed as though Daboll was the missing piece to the puzzle for the Giants as New York was able to clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs and pull off the upset over Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings.
Even though the Giants went on to get beat by the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles in the next round of the playoffs, New York had made enough of an impression that many believed they’d take the next step under Daboll in 2023.
Unfortunately for the Giants, that has been far from the case, with New York in contention for being the worst team in the league this season, as they can’t seem to put it together on either side of the football like they did last year.
New York Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t hold back when recently talking about the Giants being awful this year, as he claims his team makes more headlines for struggling in 2023, via Dov Kleiman.

He thinks the media is based against the Jets and the Giants are getting a pass despite a poor season.

It’s never easy to be the face of a franchise in the city of New York, as it is the biggest market in professional sports in this country, so that franchise player is either the hero or the villain depending on their record and how they’re perceived amongst the fans.
Even though the Jets aren’t very good this year with Rodgers on the mend from an Achilles injury suffered in Week 1, they are better than expected with Zach Wilson in the fold, with a record of 4-5.
The Giants, however, are sitting at 2-8, with no hope of making a run at the playoffs.
