The New York Jets didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line to trade for Aaron Rodgers.
That’s what happens when one of the greatest passers of all time suddenly becomes available and also happens to want to play for you.
But as impactful and positive as this trade could be, it didn’t come without its fair share of risk.
Controversial nature and character aside, Rodgers isn’t getting any younger, and some speculated this could be a one-and-done season for him, while others believe he’s not going to play for more than two years.
Whatever the case, he’s not getting any younger, and that became evident when he suffered a calf injury while warming up before Tuesday’s practice.

Rodgers stayed on the field throughout the whole practice and told the media that it wasn’t anything serious, calling it a “veteran’s day.”
And while this won’t limit him in any capacity going forward, it’s worth noting that Rodgers is 39 years old already, and football is a physical sport.
We’ve seen great players be at their best and then fall from grace because of injuries.
He’s more than capable of putting up MVP-caliber numbers still, and he could throw 80+ yard darts with his eyes closed any day of the week.
But injuries are a part of sport, and the body heals differently and slower as we age.
Jets fans hope this will be an exception and not a trend going forward, as they gave up too much and their Super Bowl window might close before it even opens.
