The New York Jets will proceed with the 2023 NFL season without Aaron Rodgers.
His campaign met an unfortunate end after a highly-publicized trade brought him to The Big Apple.
Despite the hype that came with his transfer and from HBO’s Hard Knocks, his first year with the Jets lasted only four snaps.
The Achilles injury he incurred after getting sacked by Leonard Floyd might be a big blow to his team’s playoff hopes this year.
But while this season’s outcome remains unclear, there’s some good news regarding Rodgers’ condition.
As ESPN tweeted, Rodgers shared on Instagram that he underwent a successful surgery.
The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player captioned his post:
“Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the (G.O.A.T) Dr. ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery.”

His surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, is an orthopedic who specializes in sports medicine.
His past clients include Cooper Kupp, Zack Greinke, and the late Kobe Bryant.
ElAttrache was also the specialist who operated on Tom Brady’s knee when he suffered a torn ACL during the New England Patriots’ 2008 season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
A year later, Brady won NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors and led the Patriots back to the playoffs.
In that case, will Rodgers’ recovery follow the same narrative?
With 16 games left, a lot can happen, for better or worse, for the Jets.
But as he declared, Rodgers will rise again in 2024, which could include another postseason run.
