For MLB, it’s awards season: we already know who won the Silver Sluggers and Gold Gloves, as well as other unofficial recognitions.
The most prestigious ones, however, are still on deck: the Cy Youngs will be announced on Wednesday, and the winners of the MVP award will become public on Thursday.
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge is perhaps the likeliest candidate to take home the latter in the American League.
He made history on several fronts this year, most notably by breaking the American League’s single-season home run record with 62.
If he takes it home, he will be the tallest MVP.
“At 6 ft, 7 inches, Aaron Judge would be the tallest MVP winner, surpassing 2017 Giancarlo Stanton (6 ft, 6 inches),” Sarah Langs, an expert in MLB-related stats and cool facts, tweeted.

Judge Was Much, Much Better Than His Peers
As it turns out, Judge would be surpassing a current teammate, Stanton, if he wins with his stature.
Stanton won it in 2017 in the National League, back when he was with the Miami Marlins.
He was then traded to the Yankees after his own magical year in Florida.
Judge sure had a tall season in 2022, though, even surpassing Stanton’s 59 home runs that year.
In 157 games this season with the Bombers, Judge hit .311/.425/.686 with 62 blasts, 133 runs, 131 RBI, and even 16 steals.
He played very good defense in right field and center field, giving the Yankees options and flexibility.
Shohei Ohtani and Yordan Alvarez, also finalists for the MVP award in the junior circuit, also had amazing campaigns, particularly the Los Angeles Angels’ star.
The award, however, should go to Judge.
He was just too good, and too much better than his peers all year long.
