The New York Jets have a lot of work to do if they are to become a competitive team again, but they hope they have taken the first step toward doing so by hiring Aaron Glenn as their new head coach.
Glenn comes to the Jets after four successful seasons as the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator, where he helped transform them from a laughingstock to a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
He gave a fiery introductory press conference, and when asked if Aaron Rodgers will be his quarterback next season, Glenn made it clear he will not allow people to get away with asking him the same questions over and over again.
“So for anybody else gonna ask that, I’m gonna give you the same answer, so don’t waste your time. We’re clear?” Glenn said, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. “… You’re not gonna get me.”

Of course, the question of who will start at QB is the biggest one that continues to hang over this long-suffering franchise.
Rodgers, who came in a trade two offseasons ago, had his moments this season, but overall, it’s clear he isn’t the same player he was just a few years ago.
He turned 41 in December, and he doesn’t even seem sure if he wants to continue playing.
Other than the quarterback position, New York does have plenty of talent, especially on defense, and until Robert Saleh was fired as head coach early this season, it had been a very solid defensive team for a couple of years.
The hope is that Glenn will get the most out of that talent, regardless of who the starting quarterback is in the 2025 season.
