It’s time for the dog days of August.

The 2022 MLB season has reached its penultimate month and it’s time for the stretch run.

But back in July, a lot of interesting things took place.

A lot of trades were made, as well as some history by some players.

Enter the New York Yankees, the team with the best record in all of baseball, who have three sluggers in Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Anthony Rizzo tearing it up.

The three of them made some history this past month.

Stats By STATS revealed on Twitter that they have become the third trio in MLB history to hit at least 90 combined home runs before August.

The @Yankees' Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton have combined for 91 home runs this season.

They are the 3rd teammate trio with 90+ combined HR before August in a season.

1998 Mariners: Griffey Jr/Rodriguez/Martinez, 93

Yankee Sluggers Make History

These guys have been on an absolute tear.

In total, they hit a combined 91 home runs before the month of August.

That’s pretty impressive and it’s one of the main reasons why the Bronx Bombers are where they are right now.

This is a very good team that has a little bit of everything on its roster.

Judge, Rizzo, and Stanton have joined some elite company.

The Yankees had a few players of their own combine for 98 home runs before August in 1961, with two of them being Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle.

In 1993, Edgar Martinez, Alex Rodriguez, and Ken Griffey Jr. combined for 93 home runs before August with the Seattle Mariners.

These three sluggers have been carrying the Yankees all season and are going to be fun to watch down the stretch as the Yankees look to continue running away with the American League East.

We all love some home runs, but we all love a little home run history too.

What these guys have done has been nothing short of incredible.
