The NFL Draft is still several months away, but fans and analysts are already talking about it.
There is chatter about who the No. 1 overall pick will be, and more importantly, what team will pick that player due to their record in the 2024 season.
Several teams in the league are in line for the No. 1 overall pick, and for many weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders or Jacksonville Jaguars have been at the bottom of the pile.
However, as B/R Gridiron recently called out on X, the New York Giants have now plummeted to the bottom, putting them in prime position to secure the No. 1 overall pick.

This is convenient timing, as the Giants recently released Daniel Jones, effectively leaving them without a quarterback.
Drew Lock is a former highly-rated prospect, but he hasn’t shown much in the NFL to be a franchise player.
Tommy DeVito also provided a spark in the 2023 campaign, but, similar to Lock, also doesn’t have franchise-leading upside.
With that in mind, the Giants could effectively throw in the towel for the rest of the year, hoping to draft a quarterback like Shedeur Sanders to lead the team for the foreseeable future.
Things could change again near the end of the season, but at the moment, the Giants are in a great position to potentially change their future.
Brian Daboll’s job is on the line, so he’ll have to decide if winning more games is important moving forward, or if it’s better to cut his losses and help the Giants complete the tank, so to speak.
