For the first time since 1922, MLB stars will be touring South Korea to play exhibition games in the Asian country.
The initiative will be part of the 2022 Korea Series, and required the blessing of the MLB Players Association and the Korea Baseball Organization.
As part of the Korea Series, there will be two games at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium (Nov. 11-12) and two more at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome (Nov. 14-15) in South Korea.
It’s a cool way to connect with a huge baseball market, one that has served as a platform for many American players that have re-launched their careers there.
South Korea is one of the biggest and more traditional baseball places in the world, and people there surely will love being in close contact with MLB stars.
Hinch Will Be In Charge Of Leading MLB’s Team In Korea
The MLB team will have World Series-winning manager in the dugout for the four games.
“A.J. Hinch will manage the @MLB team in the 2022 Korea Series, touring in Busan and Seoul this November against the stars of the KBO,” the Detroit Tigers, Hinch’s team in Major League Baseball, announced on Monday.

Hinch took home the 2017 World Series when he was with the Houston Astros and has been tasked with guiding the Tigers’ rebuild.
He hit some bumps in the road this season, but despite his involvement in the sign-stealing scandal of 2017, he remains one of the league’s most talented managers.
The MLB team for the Korea Series still hasn’t been announced, but the league’s idea is to take talented players with a lot of name power.
The series comes a few months before the 2023 World Baseball Classic and will take place when both MLB and the KBO are in the offseason.
